Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to run your account and process purchases:

• Account information — the email address and username you provide when you create an EMTweaks account, plus a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in readable form).
• Purchase information — when you buy a tier or subscription, our payment providers (Shopify and PayPal) process your payment. We receive confirmation of what was purchased and the associated order details, but we do not receive or store your full card or banking details — those are handled entirely by the payment providers.
• Subscription status — for Game Mode, we store when your subscription is active and when it renews or expires.
• Referral information — if you use or share a referral/affiliate code, we record the association to credit referrals and calculate affiliate commissions.
• Basic technical data — standard information needed to operate the service, such as authentication tokens for keeping you signed in.

What the app does on your device

EMTweaks is a Windows optimization tool that modifies system settings on your computer when you choose to apply tweaks. These changes happen locally on your device. EMTweaks does not read, collect, or transmit your personal files, documents, browsing history, or the contents of your applications. The app communicates with our servers only for account, licensing, and purchase-related functions.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and keep you signed in
• To unlock the tiers, features, and subscriptions you've purchased
• To send account-related emails (email verification and password resets)
• To operate the referral and affiliate program
• To provide support and respond to your requests

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate EMTweaks:

• Shopify and PayPal — payment processing and order management
• Appstle — subscription management for Game Mode
• Cloudflare — hosting, our database, and website delivery
• Resend — sending account emails (verification, password reset)

Each of these providers handles data under their own privacy policies.

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us (see below) and we'll remove it, except where we're required to retain certain purchase records for legal or accounting reasons.

Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (they cannot be read back, even by us). We use reputable, secured infrastructure to store account data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

EMTweaks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these, contact us and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
